Dallas/Fort Worth ranked first in the nation for employment growth in the 1990’s, adding a total of 760,000 net new jobs.  DFW has one of the most diverse economies in the nation, reporting between 5 and 30 percent of the workforce in each of the major industrial sectors. Dallas has a cost of living equal to the national average, which makes it considerably lower than many major east and west coast cities. Dallas has no personal income tax and the local sales tax ranges from 6.25 to 8.25%.
